Release Train Engineer - Global Technology Systems
As a SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), you will play a pivotal role in facilitating and orchestrating the success of the Agile Release Train (ART) by implementing the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) within the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth operation of Agile processes across multiple teams, enabling them to deliver high-quality products on time and within scope. You will work closely with Stakeholders, Product Management, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to support the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of the ART.
What are the main responsibilities?
- Successful delivery of Program Increment (PI) objectives with minimal spillover of work and a high level of alignment with strategic business goals;
- Organize and lead key ART ceremonies such as PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, Scrum Master Sync and ART Sync, and Inspect and Adapt workshops;
- Measure and analyze the ART's performance using key SAFe metrics, such as flow efficiency, predictability, and quality;
- Mentor Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and teams on SAFe principles, practices, and Lean-Agile mindset;
- Identify and track risks, dependencies, and impediments across teams within the ART;
- Work proactively to address and resolve these issues to maintain the integrity of the PI;
- Collaborate with Product Management, System Architects, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of priorities and objectives;
- Ensure teams have a shared vision, goals, and objectives;
- Promote a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous learning within the ART;
- Drive alignment and effective communication across all teams in the ART;
- Work closely with teams from our Windsor, Ontario site;
- Conduct daily follow-ups with other departments in our various sites, whether in Ontario, Miami, Mexico or elsewhere.
What skills and experience are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management or related field);
- Certified SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) or relevant Safe Certifications;
- 5+ years of experience in Agile project management or similar roles;
- 2+ years of experience working as a Release Train Engineer (RTE);
- Proven experience in facilitating Agile Release Trains and implementing SAFe;
- Exceptional facilitation, communication, and organizational skills;
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in tools supporting Agile workflows (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps) and a solid understanding of CI/CD processes;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Proactive problem-solving and risk management skills;
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
