Release Manager - Global Technology Systems
As a Release Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution of software releases. Your role will involve managing releases for multiple projects, ensuring that releases are delivered on time, within scope, and with the highest quality. You will work closely with development, testing, and operations teams to streamline the release process, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure all release activities follow best practices.
What are the main responsibilities?
- Communicate clearly and timely with all stakeholders regarding release schedules, issues, and changes;
- Maintain transparent communication channels;
- Identify and mitigate potential risks that could delay or impact the quality of releases;
- Proactively identify and analyze potential risks;
- Continuous improvement in release processes for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness;
- Implement feedback from post-release reviews;
- Promote best practices and innovation within the team;
- Provide regular status updates to stakeholders;
- Ensure alignment between business objectives and release plans;
- Implement and manage release automation tools;
- Monitor and optimize deployment pipelines;
- Ensure smooth communication and collaboration among distributed teams;
- Manage dependencies across multiple teams and Agile Release Trains (ARTs);
- Work closely with teams from our Windsor, Ontario site;
- Conduct daily follow-ups with other departments in our various sites, whether in Ontario, Miami, Mexico or elsewhere.
What skills and experience are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Agile and SAFe environments;
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and change management;
- Proficiency with release management and automation tools;
- Proficiency in tools supporting release workflows (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps) and a solid understanding of CI/CD processes;
- Excellent Project management and organizational skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Proactive problem-solving and risk management skills;
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
